Birria Ramen: Rich, Spicy, and Packed With Flavor
Birria Ramen combines two irresistible comfort foods into one deeply flavorful bowl. Tender shredded birria beef and its rich consommé are paired with ramen noodles, creating a spicy, savory broth that is finished with fresh onion, cilantro, lime, and tender beef. It is an indulgent meal that makes excellent use of leftover birria.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes, plus birria preparation
Total time: 35 minutes with prepared birria
Servings: 4
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- 4 packs ramen noodles
- 3 cups prepared birria consommé
- 2 cups shredded birria beef
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili oil, optional
- 2 green onions, sliced
- ¼ cup diced white onion
- Fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges
- Soft-boiled eggs, optional
Combine the birria consommé and beef broth in a large saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the soy sauce and chili oil, tasting the broth and adjusting the seasoning if necessary. Stir in the shredded birria beef and allow it to warm through for several minutes.
Cook the ramen noodles separately according to the package directions, but avoid overcooking them. Drain them well and divide them between four bowls. Ladle the hot birria broth and beef over the noodles, making sure each serving receives plenty of tender meat.
Top each bowl with diced onion, green onions, and fresh cilantro. A soft-boiled egg adds extra richness, while a squeeze of lime cuts through the richness of the broth and brightens the entire dish. You can also add sliced jalapeños or additional chili oil for more heat.
The easiest way to make this recipe is with leftover birria and consommé, turning yesterday’s dinner into an entirely new meal. Keep the noodles separate from the broth until serving so they maintain their texture. The result is a deeply savory, spicy bowl of ramen with the unmistakable flavors of slow-cooked birria.
